Is the universe a simulation? Scientifically debunked

According to Nick Bostrom, our universe could be a highly advanced simulation created by a superior civilization. This simulation would replicate all the laws of physics and our history, and even consciousness might be nothing more than an emergent property of the program. Thus, if this were true, we would be unable to distinguish this simulated reality from “real” reality.

 

I know this is a topic that can cause anxiety for some people. Let me reassure you right away: this theory is refuted by modern physics. Fundamental laws show that our reality possesses properties that are impossible to replicate by a program, even an ultra-advanced one. The objections to the simulation theory are overwhelming and come from several fields. Let me explain everything.

 

If a simulation is perfect, no internal observation can prove whether we are being simulated or not. Therefore, the hypothesis becomes an idea that is impossible to test—and thus unscientific.

 

Several physicists have shown that simulating an entire universe, even with futuristic technology, would be physically unrealistic.
