Bob Lazar, Area 51, UFOs, and Element 115 – Total Debunking

Bob Lazar, a pathological liar

In May 1989, in an interview with KLAS-TV, Robert Scott Lazar, known as Bob Lazar, claimed to have worked on an ultra-secret U.S. government program between November 1988 and April 1989. According to him, he worked at the S-4 facility, a secret installation south of Area 51, on the reverse-engineering of propulsion systems from non-human vehicles.

 

His main claims are:

• There are nine extraterrestrial spacecraft stored in hangars built into the mountain.

• He mainly worked on a saucer-shaped craft called the “Sport Model.”

• These craft are powered by Element 115, which has anti-gravity properties.

• The U.S. government is in contact with extraterrestrial civilizations.

 

Why this story is highly doubtful?

 

A non-existent academic background

Lazar claims to hold a master’s degree in physics from MIT and a master’s degree in electronics from Caltech. However, his name does not appear in the records of either institution. No professors or former classmates remember him.

 

Lazar explains this absence by claiming the government erased his records as part of a conspiracy. Yet, after 35 years, not a single professor or student has come forward to contradict this.

 

It should be noted that Lazar did work at Los Alamos National Laboratory, but as a photographer, not as a scientist.  

 

Financial Motivation

In July 1986, Lazar, who presented himself as a self-employed photo processing technician (not a scientist), filed for bankruptcy in Las Vegas. He was deeply in debt. He made his revelations in May 1989, just a few years after his financial troubles. The timing is suspiciously convenient. Since then, the story has proven very lucrative for him (interviews, documentaries, conferences, books, etc.).

 

Even respected ufologists, such as Stanton Friedman, have called Lazar a “liar” after investigating his background.

 

The Real Element 115

Element 115 (officially named Moscovium) does exist. It was synthesized in 2003 and named in 2016. However, the real Element 115 has nothing in common with Lazar’s version. Lazar described an element with anti-gravity properties, capable of producing antimatter and bending spacetime. Moreover, according to him, Element 115 does not occur naturally on Earth and was supposedly brought by extraterrestrial spacecraft. Moscovium possesses none of these properties and is extremely unstable.

 

The element is called 115 simply because it has 115 protons in its nucleus — its atomic number. Just like Element 116 has 116 protons.

 

It’s as if I claimed I had been abducted by Santa’s elves, whose sleigh is powered by Element 180 with magical properties — and then years later, scientists discover a completely useless Element 180.

 

No Evidence

No photos. No videos. No documents. No samples of Lazar’s Element 115. Furthermore, in 35 years, no other employee from Area 51, Los Alamos, or S-4 has ever confirmed the existence of these nine spacecraft. There is also no evidence that the S-4 facility even exists.

 

If Lazar had truly revealed ultra-secret information, why is he still alive 35 years later?  

 

Conclusion

 

Bob Lazar is clearly a liar and a con man. He has no scientific background and provides zero evidence. There is therefore no reason to believe him. The timing of his revelations, coming right after serious financial problems, is far too convenient to be a coincidence.
